Commercialization of Nano-Scale Security Technology
Prime Technologies, LLC., a National Cash Register (NCR) company, created a revolutionary taggant technology, called LumID, that provides a highly secure, covert deterrent to counterfeiting. The sub-micron sized LumID taggants are custom manufactured to create a client-specific signature and are well suited for deployment in inks, paints, polymers and paper.
They provide unique nano-scale track and trace and anti-counterfeit solutions to meet the challenges faced by the electronics, pharmaceutical and government sectors. Counterfeiting represents a worldwide problem that has shown exponential growth over the past twenty years, and Interpol estimates current global economy losses to be in the range of $450-500 billion annually, with volumes rising sharply.
